I agree with several others reviewers that have mentioned how difficult it is to get someone to want to invest 5 minutes in a brief phone conversation before assessing on going on a date or not. Many have wondered why they're not successful at meeting someone to date, because it's awkward to meet a stranger without talking beforehand. Normal, logical people do not meet someone without talking to them first. I also agree with another reviewer about the lack of diversity. It is a deal breaker and I want date someone that is a POC like myself. I am open to other ethnicities, but for the majority of the matches seem to be Caucasian. I also hope that the pof and tinder trash stay off of the app. I've seen an influx of shirtless/tongue out default photos, which are cringy. Those that are seeking hookups need to go back to pof and tinder. One last thing that I'm confused about is how men that you don't see in your search show up as options for them. I've had several guys that I've never seen their profiles, but then I'd get likes and messages from them.

Designed to influence you to pay
The brilliant minds behind the AI algorithm obviously are neck beards. Yes, I get matched with attractive women on my ‘free’ account. Hinge obviously sells your data to 3rd party companies. This is not only why I rate this app at the lowest standard I can. Why? Because Hinge suggests the ‘perfect’ match. The ‘H’ on the face of the app should stand for hogs, and not Hinge. How could a successful dating app suggest matches when it has very limited on the information based on its users? Every suggested match I have not been attracted to in the slightest. Most of my dating success has been in person. Not over an obvious flawed app. I really have approached the app as a dating service. Not for a hookup. Look up my profile I know you people at Hinge will be able to. I’m not impressed so far with you compatibility suggestions. You should eliminate that feature.

I love the idea of a Pause function. I recently re-downloaded the app after my relationship ended but was so inundated with matches (who had great potential), I decided to Pause my profile to pay attention to the people I was already connected with on the app (I work and go to school - so my time is limited!). To my disappointment, when I was ready to un-Pause my profile I never got matches again - and maybe 1 like per day (compared to 40-50+). Several friends had the same experience. It’s disappointing to get punished for using functions offered by the app. Unfortunately, I deleted my profile and will try to continue meeting people on my other different dating app— but sad because Hinge has the BEST profiles and interface, hands down.
