On Free Trial, Will Not Pay For This
I really can’t understand why this service is so bad. I signed up for the free trial. I figured I could catch up on some of the new Trek shows now that I’m locked inside. I installed it on my TV first. I understand that it’s not pertinent to this platform, but it shows a trend. When I’m finally able to get past the error screens, I can start watching shows - until a commercial comes on. The commercials constantly buffer and skip around, and for an annoyingly common number of times, it jumps to the next episode after the commercial. What the heck? I’ve just installed the iPad app to see if it’s any better, and it won’t play anything. I tried a Discovery episode, and it says that it’s not available in my region - Texas, by the way. I tried a different show, and an error box pops up, different than the region one, but it goes away almost instantly so I can’t even read it. Show never plays. I tried it on my phone next, but get the same nonsense. How is it that every single one of my other video apps work just fine, paid or free, but CBS can’t make a reliably working app for an iPad or a TV? I definitely will be making sure that I’m never billed for this garbage.

I’ve never actually taken the time to write a review but felt this was necessary. I downloaded the app less than 10 mins ago and I’m already going to delete it. The whole point of CBS All Access should be to give your viewers access to ALL of your shows. I downloaded this app so I could have access to recent seasons of The Amazing Race and Criminal Minds that are not available on Netflix or Hulu...only to find out that you can’t watch ANY season of the amazing race and the only season available of criminal minds is season 15. Further, they only offer seasons 1,2 and 15 of CSI??? What?! Please tell me how this makes sense. This is absolutely ridiculous and CBS needs to make changes because this is a poor quality service.

After ignoring the update notifications. I finally had time to update this app. DON’T DO IT! Every time I try to watch the news to stay in touch during Covid 19, this app crashes. Turning my phone and restarting the program does not help. I can’t think of a more important time for CBS to come through and inform people. My husband and I are living separately because he is on the front lines providing anesthesia. He is in the apartment and I am home where we do not have cable or Wifi. I do have Verizon data thankfully. I always thought having no TV would be fine because I could always watch CBS news. Well here we are in the worst pandemic and this CBS app has let me down. Wish I had never updated it. Help!
