This is THE app to backup photos to external storage

Cons: - The interface feels primitive compared to the latest generation of iOS apps - Encountered some hiccups when doing an initial transfer of 7k items. Had to repeat the transfer multiple times to get all files over. At the moment there is a single file that doesn’t transfer, not sure how to troubleshoot. Pros: - Downloads the photos from iCloud and transfers to my NAS via Samba. Very fast. - I can automate transfers with the “Autotransfer” feature - The app appears to continue running in the background flawlessly - Knowledgebase/documentation is available on the author’s website

    Absolute ripoff

No, Photosync, I will not pay you an annual fee for the privilege of accessing the chron feature that has been a part of other ‘nix operating systems for 30 years. I will pay you $4, one time, to use your pretty front end to activate a feature that Apple cynically killed to boost its cloud service. I will not pay you $6.50 a year, unless you plan to admin my home network as well. What service are you providing that justifies this parasitic business model?

Awesome Sauce = best 1 tested

Solid app and w/ new updates. Using it for >1 yr. GR8 for photo backups to my PC *and* arranged by folder!! Primo! Having >✔️4000 images on my iPhone 8 means I really need the features for incremental backups. #JOY #RECOMMENDED ...iPhone 8 running iOS 12.4 crashes @ 14 mos; haven’t found an app that does this job as week or as easily ...seldom have to restart the app or restart the (free) PC companion app on my laptop
