Xtra is nothing "Xtra"
This app is addictive...just for the curiosity of who's around. It's sad that I pay for Xtra and don't get anything "Xtra." the app crashes at least once a day. Photos get cropped for no reason, that's if it gets approved within the first week. Messages take hours, sometimes days, (no exaggeration) to go through. Sometimes you have to close the app and reopen it just to get messages that were sent hours ago. Updates claim to fix "bugs" yet the bugs are still there. No response from tech support, tweets, Facebook, etc.... Xtra is nothing Xtra...save your money and use the regular Grindr, you'll have the same issues as you do with Xtra.

No value proposition
Why should you pay over $100 for an annual subscription? Just to see more of the same thing? A few more thumbnails? In addition, Grindr is constantly trying to trick you into clicking a button to subscribe to its one-year service. By accident, you could just happen to butt-dial the button at a cost of over $100 without really consenting to the subscription. These guys need to improve their services to customers, not to mention their marketing honesty and transparency. Update 2020: this App is annoying. Grindr is always trying to trick you into buying a ridiculously expensive premium membership, or else make your online experience annoying as hell! Better to do Scruff!

Getting worse over time
Filtering “Face photos only” was already a weak “feature.” It didn’t verify that the face picture was actually of that user, and the moderators didn’t even confirm it was a face at all (i.e, landscape pix came through the filter). Moving such a poor “feature” from freemium to premium just seems indicative of the company’s recent philosophy—they think everyone needs or wants to be here, so if they make the free version bad enough, people will buy a subscription.
