Convoluted and unclear
I used to use Skype years ago when it was predominantly a texting app, and I’m not sure what went wrong. In this new version, adding new people is convoluted—do I text them? Why isn’t it working? Do I send a QR code? How do I teach my grandmother what a QR code is? After 45 minutes of trying to hamfistedly connect with someone—both through QR code and through synced address books—to no avail, we gave up and uninstalled this unintuitive disaster. I’m sticking with FaceTime, and if my contacts don’t have an iPhone, that’s too bad. I won’t be using this again.

Skype blocked a contact mobile number from other country
I have been using Skype for many years. Since my mother doesn’t have internet access I have been purchasing credit to call her mobile number. Well a month ago Skype decided to block her number. The message I received when I call is “contact blocked by Skype”. I already tried to see contacts I blocked and my mother is not in that list. I confirmed my caller ID. My internet connection is great. I tried to talk to someone from Skype and that was not an option. I guess that now with the pandemia that is impossible.

Skype has been a life saver. I have a YouTube show on my channel @WordOfGeo. I interview musicians on my SongSeries show, but now that we are all suffering with the Covid-19 virus, all of the interviews need to be digital. Skype has helped so much with the transition. This platform allows me to conduct my interviews, and they look really professional. Thank you so much.
